Huntington (Alexandria, VA) Transit Area Comprehensive Plan Updated

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ANNOUNCEMENTS

Subject:  Plan Amendments 2015-IV-MV4 (Huntington TSA, Land Unit G) and 2015-IV-MV5 (Huntington TSA, Land Unit I) Adopted Texts

 

The 2017 Edition of the Comprehensive Plan has been updated as a result of Plan amendments 2015-IV-MV4 and 2015-IV-MV5,adopted by the Board of Supervisors on January 23, 2018.  

 

2017-04 - Huntington TSA, Land Unit G (pt.) (2015-IV-MV4):  This Plan amendment added a development option for mixed-use redevelopment, including residential and/or office, hotel and supporting restaurant/retail uses up to an intensity of 3.0 floor area ratio (FAR) on Tax Map parcel 83-1((1))33 with consolidation of adjacent property or up to 2.6 FAR without consolidation, located along Huntington Avenue within Land Unit G of the Huntington Transit Station area.   Also expands the Huntington Transit Development Area to include Tax Map parcel 83-1((1))33.

 

2017-05 - Huntington TSA, Land Unit I (2015-IV-MV5): This Plan amendment revised Plan recommendations for Tax Map parcels 83-1((23))1-364 and 83-1((1))32 within Land Unit I of the Huntington Transit Station Area and the MV1-Huntington Community Planning Sector. The approximately 19.5 acre property is generally located south of Huntington Avenue, north of North Kings Highway and west of the Huntington Metrorail Station. The amendment modified the Plan option to recommend transit-oriented mixed-use development up to an intensity of 3.5 FAR, with conditions.

 

The adopted text for these amendments (adopted text Nos. 2017-04 and 2017-05) can be found here for 2017-04, and here for 2017-05, and they revised the Mount Vernon Planning District section of the Area IV volume of the Comprehensive Plan.

 

You may need to take the following steps:

 

1.  If you maintain a paper copy of the Comprehensive Plan, please print the affected section and replace the old text in your Plan notebooks.

 

2.  If you have "short cuts" or "favorites" on your computer that link to the Plan, be sure to refresh those links and check to be sure they link to the newest version by checking the “amended through” dates in these revised sections.

The Eisenhower West/Landmark Van Dorn Ad Hoc Implementation Advisory Group will hold its fifth meeting on Monday, February 12 at 7 p.m. in the Cameron Station Great Room, 200 Cameron Station Blvd. The meeting will include an overview of projects and studies within the Eisenhower West and Landmark/Van Dorn Corridor planning areas.

 

Advisory Group meetings are open to the public and members of the community are encouraged to attend and participate.
